THAMAR · From city challenges to shared prosperity

Frequently asked questions

Answers about taking part in THAMAR: who can join, how voting and challenge selection work, AI safeguards, data and privacy, and funding.

Who can take part?

Every resident, student and researcher, plus universities, government bodies, companies, startups, experts, investors, chambers and civil-society organizations.

Is it free?

Yes for individuals and students. Paid services are for companies only, such as sponsored challenges and data reports.

How are the top 10 chosen?

A published formula: 40% votes, 30% impact, 20% data quality, 10% feasibility; the chamber committee approves and records the reason for any change.

Does AI make decisions?

No. It only suggests, never invents sources, and every decision is human and open to appeal.

How do private companies take part in delivery?

They take a defined role in the venture team, such as building the platform, legal advice, accounting or marketing, in exchange for an equity stake agreed by the team. Some roles are for companies only, some for youth only, and some are open to both, with the system proposing the best fit.

What do I see after signing in?

A dashboard for your account type with your tasks and data; you only see the pages your role is allowed to use.

How is my data protected?

Minimal data, two-factor verification, encryption and an audit log. Gender and disability are never exclusion criteria.

How do investors fund ventures?

With Shari'ah-compliant instruments such as ijara, musharaka and qard hasan, after due diligence and published impact data.

Can THAMAR run in another city?

Yes. Each city is a self-contained unit hosted by its local chamber on the same platform.
